Sam's spotty when it comes to his mobile when he's out after something. I can't imagine he's going to be checking his journal. I can take the second SUV out to warn him, if that's all right.

To whom it may concern,

The ability granted to me by the Rift is the ability to transform into one of two animals, neither one native to this region: a Malayan sun bear and a fennec fox. If either of these animals are sighted around the tower one may assume that this is me; I'll be happy to shift back if there's anything requiring my assistance.
